Update on Art for Humanity Shoe Collection

picture of hondurans wearing donated clothingFrom Glen Evans of Art for Humanity:

Thought you may like to know that since the installation of the new president, there is a lot of progress. With these developments, most people have a renewed sense of optimism and our mission work progresses more smoothly.

A request: we are expanding our network of people who want to help the poor to help themselves.  If you know of any individuals or businesses that would enjoy knowing more about our efforts please email them and cc me. Because I am in Honduras so much, email is always the best way to contact me.  I greatly appreciate your help in that way.

Because of your prayers there are many more people here with smiles on their faces. This shows children who received shoes and clothing.

This is of the guys who are working everyday building the new college and begin the organic farm that will eventually support the college.

One of the dormitories is in the background. We need many more volunteers to come and help them. If you are interested or know someone who may be interested in coming to volunteer – and get to know these great guys and their families – please send me an email and I’ll provide you with more information.

As a way to expand our network, please forward this message to those who may be interested and cc me.

Blessings,

Glen Evans

Youth Unleashed – Sardines on Friday, January 15th

sardineWe’ll have two things going on this Friday night:

First up, at 7:30, we’ll map out our Friday night and fundraising calendar for the first part of 2010. If you have ideas on things you want us to do, bring them that night. I’m going to use a planning method that’s both active and fun (plus there will be pizza).

Then, starting at 8:45 (or earlier if we’re focused and get done with planning quickly) we’ll bust out the flashlights to play Sardines.

we are a progressive community of faith located in the rosemont neighborhood of alexandria, virginia, close to old town and del ray.

all are welcome - no exceptions.
